Stuffed Cabbage
What you'll need: 1 small head of cabbage 4 cups tomato sauce 1 pound ground beef 1 pound ground mild pork sausage 2 cloves of garlic peeled and chopped 1 onion peeled and chopped 2 tablespoons lard or duck fat Italian seasoning salt & pepper What to do: Peal apart cabbage leaves and cook until tender (5 minutes). Drain and put aside. Pour 2 cups of sauce in bottom of a large roasting pan. In a large skillet heat oil and saute onion in lard or duck fat until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 3 seconds Add Italian seasoning and all ground beef. Cook until brown. Add salt and pepper to taste. Lie a cabbage leaf on the counter and place ground meat in center. Roll up and secure with a tooth pick. Place in large roasting pan. Continue with remaining cabbage and ground meat. Cover all stuffed cabbages with 2 cups or sauce. Bake, covered on 350 for 40 minuets. Serve with Locatelli Pecorino Romano cheese. Enjoy & be in health. |
